Washington DC, 14 August 2022 (TDI): Pakistan marked its 75th Independence Day on Sunday. The people of America expressed solidarity by congratulating Pakistan on its Independence Day.
The Secretary of State of the United State (US), Antony J. Blinken also congratulated Pakistan on Sunday.
Remarks by Secretary Blinken
The Secretary of State of the US congratulated Pakistan on behalf of the United States of America. He also highlighted how the day marks 75 years of Pakistan and US bilateral relations.
On the occasion, he also recalled the engagements between the two nations in different sectors. He said that the US has always stood by Pakistan and will continue to support Pakistan in the future too.
It is noteworthy that the US has hosted thousands of Pakistani students in its institutes. Moreover, it aided Pakistan with 77 million COVID-19 vaccine doses through COVAX.
Additionally, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) announced $1 million for Pakistan to help it deal with the ongoing flood impacts.
Furthermore, the United States continues to be Pakistan’s largest export destination. This all shows the unique and strong relationship the two nations share with each other.
Secretary Blinken concluded his remarks with the hope that Pakistan and US relations will continue to grow stronger.
He expressed confidence in making this wish become reality. Consequently, he hoped to resolve to renew and strengthen Pakistan and US’s partnership for the next 75 years and beyond.
Pakistan’s 75th Independence Day
On 14 August 2022, Pakistan marked its 75th Independence Day. The day was celebrated throughout the nation. Moreover, Pakistan’s diaspora and officials from different countries also congratulated Pakistan on its Independence Day.
On this day in 1947, Pakistan got independent from the British Colonial Raj. As a result of this, the Indian subcontinent was divided into two. With this division, emerged the state of Pakistan, the land of Peace.
