Washington, 2 September 2021 (TDI): In a speech on Monday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken underscored that America’s effort in Afghanistan continues, the country has a plan for what comes next, and that it will put it into action.
He stated that moments like this necessitate contemplation. Afghanistan’s conflict has lasted 20 years. Lessons must be learned, and those lessons must affect how to think about basic national security and foreign policy issues. Also, he stated that they owed it to future diplomats, policymakers, military leaders, service personnel, and, most importantly, the American people.
Since the United States owes it to the people, they will remain steadfast in their efforts today and in the future. Making certain that they would use every chance to make good on their promises to the Afghan people, especially by welcoming thousands of Afghans into the American community, as the American people have done several times before with compassion and grace throughout history.
