Paris (TDI): The United States has signaled a firm stance against Iran’s nuclear ambitions, with US Energy Secretary Chris Wright stating on Wednesday that Washington will prevent Tehran from obtaining nuclear weapons “one way or the other.”
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the International Energy Agency meetings in Paris, Wright emphasized President Donald Trump’s position, “We cannot allow a nuclear-armed Iran. Their stated intentions for such weapons are entirely unacceptable.”
He added, “One way or the other, we are going to end and deter Iran’s march toward a nuclear weapon.”

The remarks came after US and Iran held talks in Geneva on Tuesday, aimed at averting the possibility of a military confrontation over Tehran’s nuclear program.
Following the discussions, Iranian officials indicated that both sides had agreed on “guiding principles” to avoid escalation. However, US Vice President JD Vance noted that Tehran had not yet fully accepted all of Washington’s conditions and red lines.
