Edinburgh, 21 June 2023 (TDI): Ukrainian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Ivanovych Kuleba, met with the United States of America’s Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, at the Ukranian Recovery Conference in Scotland.
This annual conference, attended by various participants, will focus on “mobilizing international support for Ukraine’s economic and social stabilization and recovery from the effects of war,” this year.
Under this conference, many countries provide emergency funds and reconstruction assistance to Ukraine amidst the conflict with Russian forces.
Secretary Blinken assures the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs of America’s full and unwavering support for Ukraine’s economic stabilization. He also assures him of reforms that will contribute to the prospects of Ukrainian economic growth, leading to “a prosperous and democratic future.
”
The preparations for the Vilnius summit by NATO were also discussed. Ukraine has not received a formal invitation to join NATO, and there are no current plans to extend an invitation.
Ukraine Recovery Conference
The URC was initiated in 2017 in London as the Ukraine reform conference. This is the first year of this conference since Russia invaded Ukraine. The US has provided Ukraine with its firm support ever since Russia invaded the country with funds and military support.
They have been allies since Ukraine’s independence from the soviet union. The U.S. considers Ukraine a vital ally against the continued Russian aggression in the area, and its policy demands supporting Ukraine to strengthen its democracy, and economy, and fight against injustice.
The US does not recognize Crimea as a Russian territory and will keep on struggling for Ukraine’s independence against Russian aggression.
