Washington DC, 14 July 2022 (TDI): US companies are planning to invest $40bn in Mexico by 2024. This was decided at a meeting between the Presidents of both states.
Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, the President of Mexico on Tuesday told Joe Biden, the President of the USA, that Mexico is ready to work with the USA.

He added that Mexico wants to work with the USA in different domains. These sectors include integration in the economic and energy sectors.
In a tweet, US President Joe Biden stated that it felt great to sit with the Mexican President. He added that discussing the wide partnership between nations is also good.
Marcelo Ebrard, the Foreign Minister of Mexico, on Wednesday, shared about the meeting between the US and Mexican President.

According to Mexican officials, the meeting between both Heads of states could be beneficial for Mexico. It could bring the prospect of completing pending US projects in Mexico.
In addition, the meeting could lead to significant progress in pending investments by US energy companies in Mexico and lead to economic integration in North America.
This integration will promote the economy as well as the energy supply. Tatiana Clouthier, the Mexican Minister of Economy was also present at the business breakfast in Washington.
Tatiana Clouthier mentioned in her tweet that Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, the President of Mexico, has observed that there is a need to talk with energy companies.
Furthermore, he added that Andrés Manuel Lopez Obrador should also negotiate with Sempra Energy Company. In June 2022, Ken Salazar, US Ambassador to Mexico, stated that both sides were working through many disputes, including US companies with a combined worth of $30bn.
