Abuja, 11 November (TDI): The United States Mission Nigeria representatives attended the 10th anniversary of the Africa International Film Festival in Lagos, Nigeria. The event started on 09 November and will end on 13 November. The theme of the event is “Africa for Africa” and aims to promote the film industry. Many US organizations related to the film and entertainment industry participate and partner in the event. For instance, these include Amazon, Paramount, Macro, Netflix, and Smithsonian Institute.

Also, African Film Festival helps to grow ties between the US and Nigeria. Likewise, Nigeria’s film industry contributes to Nigeria’s economic growth, revenue, and job creation.
Further, Global Media Makers, U.S.-based post-production partnered with ARIFF to train nearly 25 Nigerian filmmakers on the workflow of the post-production collaborative process, tips on budgeting, managing efficiency, and the use of aesthetic tools.
Additionally, it will enhance the cultural understanding of the two countries. Moreover, the festival sought to explore new genres, magic, horror, fantasy, and psychological thrillers in the industry.
