Islamabad, 27 August 2024 (TDI): The United States on Tuesday strongly condemned Sunday’s deadly attacks in Balochistan targeting security officials and civilians, the US embassy in Pakistan said.
In a statement issued on X, the embassy regretted the loss of precious lives, including the twenty-three innocent civilians who were murdered in Musakhail.
“Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of those killed in yesterday’s attacks. The United States will continue to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Pakistan in its fight against terrorism,” the US embassy said.
The statement comes in the aftermath of a series of terrorist activities in Balochistan on Sunday night and on Monday, in which at least 73 people, including police personnel, embraced martyrdom.
The attacks carried out by the militants of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) targeted police stations, railway lines and highways.
On Sunday night, BLA militants blocked a highway in Musakhail, marched 23 passengers off vehicles, and shot them after checking their identity cards.
