Washington, 10 August 2021 (TDI): Today, US Secretary Antony Blinken in his tweet expressed his pleasure to welcome the United Kingdom as the new Dialogue Partner of ASEAN. In addition, he conveyed that the United States welcomes UK engagement in the Indo-Pacific, including its allies of the Mekong ministerial meeting. The outcome aims towards advancing peace, prosperity, and security in the Indo-Pacific where lies major sea-lanes. Also, Indo-Pacific is significant as it is connected to major centers of the international economy in the North Atlantic, Asia-Pacific, and global trade.
