Riyadh (TDI): A meeting between US and Russian delegations will take place in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
The Russian official delegation will be headed by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and the US team by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, according to Russian media.
The US team will also reportedly include Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz.
Meanwhile, US media reported that the Ukrainian authorities were either not invited or unwilling to attend the meeting.
Last Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump agreed in a phone call k to organize contacts on the Ukrainian settlement as soon as possible.

Trump made ending the Russia-Ukraine war a part of his presidential election campaign.
On February 13, President Trump announced that representatives of the US, Ukraine, and Russia would supposedly meet in Saudi Arabia next week.
Next day, the reports indicated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy would visit Saudi Arabia and Türkiye. However, Kyiv rejected the possibility of a meeting with the Russian side.

After his meeting on the margins of the Munich Security Conference last Friday with US Vice President JD Vance, President Zelenskyy said that Ukraine had not been invited to the negotiations in Saudi Arabia.
He added that Ukraine would not engage with Russia without consultations with its strategic partners.
