Washington D.C., 19 May 2023 (TDI): “Profitable business ventures of over 80 US multinational corporations (MNCs) in Pakistan should serve to encourage investors and the business community to not only take advantage of a growing market of 240 million but also use the strategic location of the country for serving a huge market of Central and West Asia, Middle East and North Africa,” said Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan.
During a meeting at the Embassy of Pakistan, Ambassador Masood Khan discussed the enterprising middle class and the growing needs of a developing economy, which have created significant opportunities for the business community to establish and expand their ventures.
These opportunities allow businesses to fulfill the existing unmet demand and reap dividends.
Senior directors of PepsiCo, Mohammad Khosa and Caroline Berson, acknowledged the success of the company in Pakistan’s beverages and food sector. They highlighted that Pakistan serves as an export hub for their manufactured products to regional countries such as Afghanistan. Additionally, finished food products made in Pakistan are being exported to Qatar, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
Mohammad Khosa shared that PepsiCo invests $80-90 million in Pakistan annually and expressed their commitment to further enhance and diversify their investments in the country. Ambassador Khan emphasized the need for better coordination among stakeholders to showcase the success stories of the business community in both countries.
