Islamabad (TDI): US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome appreciated the achievements of Pakistani students during the EducationUSA High Achievers’ Ceremony, encouraging them to consider pursuing higher education in the United States.
Speaking at the event held in Islamabad, Ambassador Blome congratulated the students on their academic accomplishments and acknowledged the vital support of their families.
He also commended the efforts of Kathy Aziz and her team from EducationUSA and the US Educational Foundation in Pakistan for organizing the event.
“This event marks the beginning of International Education Week, a time to celebrate the academic partnerships between Pakistan and the US, and the growing number of Pakistani students studying in America,” Ambassador Blome said.
Highlighting the increasing educational exchange, the ambassador shared that the 2023–24 academic year saw a record 11,000 Pakistani students enrolled in US institutions, ranking Pakistan 15th globally for international student enrollment.
Ambassador Blome stressed the value international students bring to US campuses, stating they contribute to academic diversity, vibrant campus life, and innovative research.

He encouraged the high-achieving students in attendance to explore opportunities to study in the US, emphasizing the role of EducationUSA in providing free guidance on college selection, scholarship searches, and application processes.
“EducationUSA is an invaluable resource for students, and I urge you to make the most of it,” he remarked.
Acknowledging the significant role of school counselors, the ambassador praised their contributions and announced that the US Embassy would support another cohort of counselors to visit American universities, enabling them to guide students more effectively.

The ceremony concluded with Ambassador Blome urging students to pursue their dreams and highlighting the impact of US-educated Pakistanis, who are making strides in various sectors back home.
