Ulaanbaatar, 9 September 2021 (TDI): Mongolia received 188,370 doses of Pfizer vaccine from the United States on Wednesday. The US delivered the supplies under the COVAX initiative, an international effort to expedite the vaccination process worldwide.
The Pfizer doses came directly from a Pfizer manufacturing plant operating in Michigan, USA. Since the COVID-19 began, the United States has provided Mongolia with more than 4 million dollars, alongside USAID’s delivery of 50 ventilators last year. The USAID also aims to assist the vulnerable nations with vaccine-distribution procedures, risk communication campaigns, and infection control efforts in school settings and health facilities.
Being the third neighbor of Ulaanbaatar, the United States exhibited commitment towards helping the Mongolian state recover from the devastating effects of Covid-19. Earlier, US State Secretary Antony J. Blinken also expressed his contentment over assisting Mongolia to tackle the pandemic effectively.
