US Dollar Continuously Rising Minutely Against Pakistani Rupee

Islamabad, 23 August 2024 (TDI): On Thursday, the US dollar gained eight paisa’s, continuing its upward trend in the interbank market. With this increase, the interbank currency rate of the dollar is now Rs278.60.

The US dollar increased in value relative to the Pakistani rupee by 11 paisa’s on Wednesday, reaching Rs278.45.

The US dollar has appreciated in value concurrently with the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) much-awaited $7 billion rescue package for Pakistan being postponed once more.

The IMF Executive Board meeting’s most recent itinerary, which was made public till August 30, does not mention Pakistan, according to certain sources.

From August 28 to August 30, the IMF board will consider petitions from three nations, including Vietnam. The nation’s wait for financial aid has been further extended by Pakistan’s proposal for a new loan program, which has been delayed until next month.
