Washington DC, 26 September 2022 (TDI): The United States pledged an additional $457.5 million in civilian security assistance to bolster law enforcement and criminal justice agencies in Ukraine.

The assistance is an effort to improve the operational capacity of these agencies as they continue to defend the Ukrainian people, their freedom, and their democracy during the Ukraine-Russia Crisis.

Since mid-December 2021, the United States has committed more than $645 million in assistance to Ukrainian law enforcement and criminal justice partners, including the National Police of Ukraine (NPU) and the State Border Guard Service.

This assistance has had a tangible, positive impact on these organizations. The USA’s deployment of personal protection equipment, medical supplies, and armored vehicles has substantially decreased civilian and defense casualties in Ukraine.
