Kyiv, 14 July 2022 (TDI): The Defense Minister of Ukraine, Oleksii Yuriyovych Reznikov, and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi held a meeting with the United States (US) Ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget A. Blink, on Thursday.

In the meeting, the security situation in Ukraine was discussed amid the growing Ukrainian-Russian war. Ambassador Bridget highly appreciated the use and timely settlement of the weapons provided by the US to Ukraine.

She further added that protecting Ukraine against the brutal aggression by Russia was one of the priorities of the US and they would continue to extend their support as much as possible.

The Commander-in-Chief, General Valerii also explained the situation of war against Russia on the frontline. He said that the situation was under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Defense Minister of Ukraine explained the level of security that can be provided around Ukraine’s borders for trade. Especially in the Azov-Black Sea region, where the development of new trade corridors is underway.

Ukraine is facing food security problems and the blockade on its seaports has caused numerous problems for the countries exporting from Ukraine as well.

Development of Trade Corridors

Turkey has put forward the idea of developing corridors through the Black Sea. Mainly for the Ukrainian grain to reach global markets and can help both the importer and exporter.

So, one of the agendas of the meeting was to resolve any security threats for such developments. The Defense Minister, Oleksii Reznikov expressed his gratitude on behalf of Ukraine.

He said that Ukraine was thankful to the US for its timely and unfaltering aid. Furthermore, he added that the hopes of the Ukrainian people have risen because of the support provided by the US.

In the end, he mentioned that Ukraine is struggling for its independence and territorial integrity. Consequently, at such times, the support of many international states has helped them a lot.
