Geneva: 13th July 2021 (TDI): Today the United Nations Refugee Agency announced support for those in Pakistan and Iran.
A total of €22 million humanitarian aid has been allocated out of which 15 million will be spent on humanitarian organizations working in Iran. A significant part of the funding will support the country’s fight against the pandemic. Funding also supports Iran’s efforts in helping Afghans with education, health, and livelihood. On the other hand €7 million will go to humanitarian organizations in Pakistan that focus on vulnerable populations. This assistance will mainly focus on Afghans and Pakistani’s that got affected by COVID-19, natural disasters, and malnutrition. This humanitarian aid is strictly monitored and given to well-known humanitarian organizations such as United Nations agencies and NGOs.
