Mogadishu, 10 September 2021 (TDI): On Thursday, UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Somalia, James Christopher Swan met with China’s newly appointed Ambassador to Somalia, Fei Shengchao in Mogadishu.
The agenda of the meeting was to discuss the ways of enhancing the support of the international community for Somalia. Both sides exchanged views on humanitarian aid, water management and discussed the issues of common interests. China will continue to support Somalia on its path to peace, stability, and development.
On 6th September newly appointed Ambassador Fei Shengchao arrived in Mogadishu to assume office. The Somali President, Mohamed Farmaajo congratulated him on his appointment. Moreover, he expressed in his statement that Mogadishu is committed to strengthening bilateral relations between two countries.
