New York, 4 January 2022 (TDI): UN has congratulated Mongolia over the 110th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations service.
The congratulations were sent to Mongolia by Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed on 29 December. In her message, the UN envoy warmly greeted Mongolia over the diplomatic anniversary.
She also noted that out of 110 years of Mongolian diplomatic service, Mongolia remained a member of the UN for 60 years. Mongolia is also marking the 60th anniversary of UN membership this year.
On the occasion, Deputy Secretary-General appreciated the Mongolian Firm’s support to Multilateralism and diplomacy. The country always promoted efforts for peace, security, and development in the region and the world at large, she added.
The Representative also paid gratitude to Mongolia for their support in providing United Nations Peacekeeping Operations. Mongolia also remained key in promoting the role of female peacekeepers and supported Peace and Security agenda for women.
During the period of MDGs, Mongolia came forward firstly to add the 9th MDG on human rights and governance. Deputy General-Secretary also paid congratulations to Mongolia for their inspiring strides to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
The greetings also reaffirmed United Nations’ commitment to cooperate with Mongolia to achieve a sustainable and resilient future.
Congratulatory Message by South Korea
South Korean Minister of Foreign Affairs Chung Eui-Yong also congratulated Mongolia on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of establishing diplomatic service. He sent a message containing congratulations to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia B.Battsetseg.
While greeting, Foreign Minister also noted a satisfied Strategic Partnership between Mongolia and the Republic of Korea this year. He also wished to meet the Mongolian leadership to discuss the development of bilateral relations between the two nations. The greetings also went on wishing good health and well-being to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia B.Battsetseg.
