Ukrainian Children Begin Healing Trip in Uzbekistan

Tashkent (TDI): A delegation of Ukrainian children from regions heavily impacted by the ongoing conflict including Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, and others has arrived in Tashkent for a 12-day stay aimed at emotional recovery and rest.

The Ukrainian Embassy in Uzbekistan said that the entire visit, from planning to funding, was handled by the Uzbek government.

Upon landing at Tashkent International Airport, the children received a warm welcome before being transported to a peaceful mountain camp located near the Tien Shan range.

This initiative was launched following a request from Ukraine and is designed to help young participants recover from the psychological strain of war, such as missile strikes and constant air raid alerts.

The camp offers a structured program of daily themed events like “National Values Day” and “Sports and Health Day,” as well as creative competitions and excursions. Evenings are reserved for social gatherings. Ukrainian adults are present to supervise the children throughout their stay.

The program enjoys the support and involvement of nearly all major government bodies in Uzbekistan, reflecting a coordinated national effort rooted in empathy and goodwill.

The Ukrainian Embassy noted that the gesture demonstrates Uzbekistan’s sincere commitment to supporting Ukraine’s civilian population, particularly the young and vulnerable.

This is not the first such act of humanitarian assistance from Tashkent. Previously, the country offered refuge and medical aid to 100 injured Palestinian women and children evacuated from Rafah.
