London (TDI): Commonwealth and Development Office spokesperson released the United Kingdom’s statement regarding the developments in Syria.
The spokesperson delivered following remarks:
“In light of the recent situation in Syria, we call upon all involved parties to prioritize the safety of civilian lives and infrastructure. It is imperative to mitigate further suffering, avoid the displacement of vulnerable populations, and ensure the continuity of essential humanitarian assistance.”

“We emphasise the importance of a political solution to the conflict that is led by the Syrian people. The current escalation can be attributed to the Assad regime’s ongoing reluctance to participate in a political process, as well as its dependence on the support of Russia and Iran”
He further added that it is essential for the regime and all parties involved in the conflict in Damascus to actively support and participate in the negotiations as outlined in UNSCR 2254.
