Islamabad: June 22, 2021-(TDI) Today, The UK Minister of State for South Asia and CommonWealth arrived in Pakistan for his two-day visit. Since the start of the pandemic, he is the first UK minister to visit Pakistan. The visit will cover many areas of cooperation between both countries. He also addressed the media in the launch ceremony of the Brick Kiln Program.
Minister Tariq Ahmed, on his visit, will meet many government officials and will discuss bilateral ties between both countries on climate change, girls’ education, and trade. At the launch event of the Brick Kiln Programme, he said that the UK and Pakistan are going to work together to tackle climate change. They are working together with the government of Punjab to provide cleaner brick production technology. For the past few years, Punjab has been dealing with smog. This initiative will help them reduce the smog issue and emissions in Punjab. During the press briefing, he also talked about his association with Pakistan.
