London, 18 August 2021 (TDI): UK began donating almost 249,000 vaccines via COVAX to Ghana. Ghana has today received almost a quarter of a million vaccines donated by the UK to COVAX with the aim of defeating Covid 19, the global pandemic.
The total number of vaccines donated to the UK to Kenya consist of 817,000 doses. These doses of vaccines were landed in Nairobi via COVAX.
This shipment of vaccines is a part of its project on a large scale which is based on sharing 100 million doses of vaccines to the rest of the world, while 80% will be through COVAX. Moreover, the UK government has donated 5 million vaccine doses to COVAX and the total amount of vaccine to be donated to African countries would be almost 3 million.
The aim of donating vaccines is that through vaccinating more and more people, we can fight this obstacle and challenge of the deadly viruses before us and safeguard our world against the new variants available in a more fatal manner.
