UAE Minister of State meets British counterpart

Abu Dhabi, 8 July 2022 (TDI): The Minister of State for the UAE, Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, met with the Minister of State for Asia and the Middle East, Amanda Milling, for bilateral talks.

The two dignitaries met at the British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. During the meeting, the two leaders discussed issues of common interest and ways to develop cooperation in various fields.

Both sides highlighted the recent developments and ways to support stability in the region and the key developments in Africa. They also stressed ways to enhance progress, prosperity, and development for both countries.

As a result, the Minister of State for the UAE affirmed the UAE’s keenness to strengthen its partnership with the United Kingdom.

He also affirmed his support for joint cooperation in all fields, so as to ensure further development.
In addition, the British counterpart, Milling, praised the commendable solid and deep-rooted relations between the two countries.

She also commended the cooperation that is constructive at all levels and further stressed the many other opportunities that can further strengthen the relations in various fields.

UAE- UK relations

The United Kingdom has been a very good friend of the United Arab Emirates since 1971. In recent years, the UAE has aimed to be a source of stability, economic growth, and innovation in the region.

Furthermore, the UAE enjoys prosperous bilateral relations with the United Kingdom. The relationship is aimed at achieving economic, strategic, and cultural interests.

Both countries have a successful trading partnership that includes a variety of industries. These consist of energy, financial and professional services, education, healthcare, and infrastructure, as well as defence and aerospace.

Moreover, an appreciable strategic partnership exists between the UAE and the UK. There are strong ties between the Armed Forces of the UAE and the UK. The partnership has preserved security and stability in the Arabian Gulf.
