Abu Dhabi, 6 October 2021 (TDI): Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Egypt agreed in January to end the dispute in which they had severed ties with Qatar in mid-2017. Since this moment, relations between Qatar and the United Arab Emirates are getting closer.
Sheikh Tahnoun and the Qatari emir discussed strengthening cooperation particularly in economic and trade areas and in investment projects. However, this is not the first time that both authorities held a diplomatic meeting.
On the sidelines of the “Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership”, the representatives had previous formal meetings. Both countries exchanged views on the conference and its expected results in a way that serves the security and stability of brotherly Iraq, UAE state news agency WAM reported.
At this moment, Qatar represents an important part of the UAE partnerships, especially in trade and economic cooperation. In past meetings, the parties tackled ways to enhance bilateral relations that serve the process of construction, development, and progress, and achieve the common interests of the two fraternal countries.
On the other hand, Qatar has held different diplomatic meetings with the leaders of Iran and Pakistan. This shows the country’s intention to continue consolidating its presence, both with the Gulf and with neighboring countries, seeking to increase mutual benefits.
