Washington, 31 July 2021 (TDI):
U.S. vice president Kamala Harris will be at its first to visit Vietnam and Singapore next month to show international support to counter China’s growing influence. However, the dates for her trip will still be worked on according to the diplomats.
The trip aims to discuss their joint efforts to promote a rules-based international order, as well as regional security, the global response to COVID-19, and climate change.
President Joe Biden expressed his concern towards China’s top military and economic standing in the world. It said that Harris’s visit, along with its upcoming visits would be crucial to Washington’s commitment to Southeast Asia while its top priority is to rebuild our global partnerships and secure nations.
