Brussels, 9 September 2024 (TDI): At the inaugural meeting of ambassadors from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Central Asia, and Mongolia, Turkmenistan proposed deepening interregional collaboration.
Turkmen Ambassador Sapar Palvanov suggested establishing a permanent mechanism for interaction, including regular foreign minister meetings, trade forums, and cultural exchanges.
The meeting, which reviewed outcomes from the GCC-Central Asia summit held in July 2023 in Saudi Arabia, focused on enhancing economic partnerships, particularly in trade, investment, and transport logistics.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of strengthening ties with the European Union and preparing for upcoming CA-EU and GCC-EU summits.
Ambassador Palvanov emphasized the role of Gulf countries as stable investors and key partners in Turkmenistan’s development, notably in the oil and gas sector and transport corridors.

The meeting was seen as a crucial platform for sharing ideas and experiences, with hopes for advancing specific projects beneficial to both regions.
The event concluded with a reaffirmation of the commitment to continue dialogue and bolster cooperation between the GCC countries and Central Asia.
