CPEC
CPEC is a key part of China’s Belt and Road Initiative, focused on building infrastructure, i.e., energy and transport networks across various continents.
The project was launched in 2013 under the Pakistan Muslime Lueague-Nawaz (PML-N) government. The project aims to connect China’s western Xinjiang region to the Gwadar port on the Arabian Sea, providing direct trade routes to the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, and significantly reducing travel time for goods.
