Islamabad (TDI): The Embassy of Türkiye in Islamabad marked the birth anniversary of Pakistan’s national poet, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, with a special event titled “Muhammad Iqbal: The Great Poet of the East.”
According to a press release issued on Friday, the celebration opened with a photo exhibition named “Common Heroes,” organized by the Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Centre.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Türkiye’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, Chairman of the Rahmatul-lil-Alamin Authority Khursid Ahmad Nadeem, Chairman of the Iqbal Council Zulfiqar Cheema, and Prof. Dr. Halil Toker, Türkiye Coordinator of Yunus Emre Centres in Pakistan.
In his remarks, Ambassador Neziroglu underlined the deep-rooted friendship between Türkiye and Pakistan and described Allama Iqbal as a visionary thinker and poet whose ideas continue to inspire the Muslim world.

Khursid Ahmad Nadeem highlighted Iqbal’s admiration for Türkiye, particularly his reflections on ijtihad and the founding of the Turkish Republic. Zulfiqar Cheema also paid homage to Iqbal’s enduring efforts for the intellectual and spiritual revival of the Muslim Ummah.
