Donald Trump wants to buy and control Gaza

Washington (TDI): After taking control of the Oval Office, United States President Donald Trump issued multiple executive orders, including tariffs on neighbouring countries like Canada and Mexico and deportation of illegal immigrants from the land of America. In this sense, Donald Trump has passed remarks about Gaza that the US is committed to buying and owning Gaza, which he called the “Rivera of the Middle East.”

In this regard, on Sunday, at Air Force One, Trump said Gaza should be considered as the “big real-estate site” and other countries in the Middle East could be tasked with handling its redevelopment.

In this sense, Trump also emphasized that the Palestinians should not come back to Gaza in spite of his proposal, prompting backlash from Palestinian representatives and much of the international community.

On the 4th of February, he told this plan during a press conference at the White House, where he categorically stated that the US would take over Gaza soon. After a while, this sparking statement shivered the world and showed sympathy for the Palestinians.

President Donald Trump said, ‘’If we could grant them a home in a secure area.’’ he further focused on the alternative plan of living, saying, ‘’The only reason they’re talking about returning to Gaza is they don’t have an alternative. When they have an alternative, they don’t want to return to Gaza, the US president said.

“If we could give them a home in a safer area – the only reason they’re talking about returning to Gaza is they don’t have an alternative. When they have an alternative, they don’t want to return to Gaza,” the US president said.

On Sunday, Hamas, the Palestinian group that governs Gaza, the leading party in that conflict, reasserted that his latest remarks were “absurd.”

However, Izzat al-Risheq, a member of the Hamas political bureau, said on Telegram that Gaza is not a property that can be purchased and sold, and it belongs to the occupied Palestinian land.

In this controversial Gaza plan, Trump was a real estate builder before entering into politics. In such a scenario, he has provided few details about how he would implement his proposal, which would face huge practical handles from the inside of America and outside. Those practical handles would be legal and ethical.

Neighbouring countries like Egypt and Jordan have firmly rejected calls to accept displaced Palestinians, despite Trump’s suggestion that they could be resettled in “other countries of interest with humanitarian values.
