Trump Says Zelenskiy Wants Democrats to Win

Pennsylvania (TDI): In 2024, Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for president, will face Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris in the US elections.

Volodymyr Zelenskiy, the president of Ukraine, expressed his desire for the Democrats to triumph in those elections on Monday.

Trump declared that if he wins the election, he would phone Zelenskiy and Russian President Vladimir Putin to press them to strike a settlement that would put an end to the conflict between their countries.

At a Pennsylvania event, Trump stated. “Zelenskiy is, in my opinion, the best salesperson in history. He leaves the country with 60 billion dollars each time.

He really wants them to win this election, but I would act differently and try to make peace.”

Trump did not provide any details of his peace plan, and Harris’ team did not respond to his statements right away. According to polls, Trump and Harris are running closely together.

In his arrival, Zelenskiy called on his allies to contribute to “a shared victory for a truly just peace” as he joined sessions of the U.N. General Assembly on Sunday.

Since the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022, Washington and its allies have imposed multiple rounds of sanctions against Moscow in addition to providing multibillion-dollar support to Ukraine.

Trump has refused to declare that he wants Ukraine to prevail and has continuously called US assistance to that country a waste of money.

Zelenskiy and Trump haven’t spoken face-to-face since Trump’s 2017–2021 tenure, despite their July phone conversation.

Tens of thousands of people have died, millions more have been displaced, and Ukrainian towns and cities have been completely destroyed by Russia’s full-scale invasion of the country.

Putin claims that only if Kyiv gives up its aspirations to join NATO and gives over large portions of eastern and southern Ukraine to Russia can peace negotiations start.

Zelenskiy has advocated on several occasions for the restoration of Ukraine’s pre-Soviet boundaries and the evacuation of all Russian forces.

Russia’s war is being described as imperialist by the West and Ukraine. In order to counter the hostile and aggressive West, Putin justified the invasion of Ukraine as a defensive action.
