Washington (TDI): US President Donald Trump is weighing his next move in the war with Iran as Washington issued fresh security warnings for Americans across the Middle East, cautioning that the regional situation remains volatile and could deteriorate rapidly.
The US State Department advised Americans in the region to exercise heightened vigilance and prepare for possible flight cancellations, airspace closures and other travel disruptions. Those outside the region were urged to reconsider travel to or through the Middle East. The warnings cited the possibility of an “unforeseen escalation” and pointed to Houthi hostilities against Saudi Arabia, including attacks affecting civilian airports.
Trump also unexpectedly returned to the White House from Camp David on Saturday, cutting short his weekend stay. The move came as he prepares to travel to New York for the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, where Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is also expected to participate.
Trump has indicated that he is approaching a major decision over the future course of the conflict. In comments reported by Fox News, Trump said he was in “deciding mode” on Iran and warned that “very big things” could happen in the near future. He described the choices as wiping Iran out, allowing its economy to deteriorate or reaching a deal. Trump has also left open the possibility of meeting Pezeshkian during the UN General Assembly. Asked about a potential meeting, he indicated that he would probably be open to it.

His latest remarks followed an interview with Axios in which he said he faced a major decision over whether to intensify military action against Iran or pursue another course. At the same time, Trump said the Houthis had agreed not to attack US forces. His comments came as the Iran-aligned group has intensified attacks against Saudi Arabia.
Iran, meanwhile, warned that any major new US or allied attack would trigger sustained retaliation against American bases and interests in the region. Iran’s military central command said it had information that another attack was being prepared but did not provide details about the alleged preparations. It also warned that US regional allies would be regarded as parties to the conflict if they supported a new attack.

The warning came amid a wider escalation involving Yemen’s Houthis, who have carried out attacks against Saudi targets. The developments have added pressure to an already fragile regional security situation, with Washington warning that the conflict could escalate rapidly.
