Islamabad (TDI): United Arab Emirates’ Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is on a two-day official state visit to Pakistan, April 20-21, 2025.
As part of his visit’s core agenda, he met the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Ishaq Dar. The Emirati Deputy PM is also set to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The visit is expected to cement trade, investment, and energy cooperation among discussions on a whole spectrum of bilateral relations between the two countries.

“The entire spectrum of bilateral relations, with particular focus on trade and investment, energy cooperation, regional security and people-to-people linkages will be reviewed during the meeting,” a statement of Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) said prior to the visit.
“The visit will also provide an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on regional and global developments of mutual interest and concern,” the statement further read.
Deputy Prime Ministers of Pakistan and UAE last met in February in Abu Dhabi; the same month when UAE’s Crown Prince, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, visited Pakistan.

In that strategic visit, both countries signed multiple agreements spanning sectors such as mining, railways, banking, and infrastructure.
UAE remains Pakistan’s core partner in the Gulf region. The bilateral relationship is based on shared religion, significant volume of mutual trade, Pakistani skilled manpower working in UAE, and a geographical proximity.
During the fiscal year 2023-24, Pakistan-UAE bilateral trade surpassed $10 billion, whereas remittances from the UAE reached $6.7 billion, last year.
