82-minute Total Lunar Eclipse Will Turn the Moon Red on Sunday

Moon lovers should eagerly wait for this Sunday when a total lunar eclipse will give us the blood moon to witness, across Asia and some parts of Europe and Africa.

All in all, spectators in Asia will have a chance to witness the complete 82 minutes of blood moon, while the eclipse itself will last around 5 hours. This means selenophiles can take as many pictures as they want and keep gazing for as long as almost one and a half hour.

The last such eclipse occurred this year in March and the one before that in 2022. While there are precautions regarding a solar eclipse, there are none for a lunar eclipse.

A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon completely comes under the earth’s shadow and all sunlight is blocked. Blood moon is one of the most awaited times for many people across the world.

The red moon will also be visible in western Australia but Americas will miss out. In total, seven billion people across the world will have a chance to be a part of this amazing spectacle.

From these, 6.2 billion will be able to see the eclipse in its entirety, from start to finish. For people in Pakistan, the spectacle will start at around 10:30 pm and will last till 11:52 pm.
