Condemnations are still pouring in after the shocking train hijack incident in Balochistan, Pakistan.
Ambassadors and envoys of many countries have expressed support for Pakistan in the aftermath of the tragedy.
Jaffar Express was bound for Peshawar when militants hijacked it in the Bolan Pass area, taking 400 passengers hostage.
In the counter rescue operation, Pakistan’s military forces have rescued 346 passengers and killed all 33 militants who were involved in the attack.
The world has reacted to the attack expressing both concern and shock. Simultaneously, countries have also expressed condolences for the lives lost, and solidarity and support for the affected families.
The United Nations
The United Nations, on behalf of the Secretary General Antonio Guterres, condemned the attack.
The SG said that any attack on civilians is unacceptable while expressing concern for those taken hostage. He also called for the immediate release of the hostages.

European Union
European Union’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Riina Kionka, also expressed concern for the hostages and strongly condemned the attack.
She also added: “Our deepest condolences go to the people of Pakistan and families of victims.”

The Swedish Ambassador in Pakistan reposted the post of the Ambassador of the European Union.
Norwegian Embassy took to X and expressed sympathies and condolences as it condemned the Jaffar Express incident.
The French Embassy posted in Urdu while expressing its condemnation, calling for an immediate release of the hostages.
Netherlands also condemned the attack as its Embassy in Pakistan posted on X, “violence is never the answer.”
The German Ambassador to Pakistan, Alfred Grannas, wrote on X, “At this difficult hour, we stand in solidarity with the people of Pakistan.”
China
The Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Mao Ning, strongly condemned the train attack during the daily news briefing of the MFA.

Iran
Iran’s Spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry, Ismail Baghai, categorically condemned the attack in a detailed statement. He said that Iran denounces terrorism in all its forms.
He also assured Iran’s assistance to Pakistan in fighting terrorism.

Russia
The Russian Embassy in Islamabad wrote in both Urdu and English while condemning the attack. It denounced the use of human shields and targeting civilians for political objectives.
