Prime Minister Imran Khan along with a group of cabinet Ministers including Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid, Minister for Planning, Development, and Reform Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar was in Beijing in the first week of October. Chief of Army Staff Qamar Javed Bajwa was in Beijing too to meet with the counterparts on the subjects related to national and regional security issues especially the changing dynamics of the Kashmir conflict.
This was the third visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to China in less than a year especially at the momentous landmark occasion when Chinese people were celebrating their 70th Anniversary of the founding of their country. It was important to visit to keep in view the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan on Kashmir wherein the atrocities of Indian occupation forces are ongoing.
Pakistan has successfully drawn the attention of the world towards the unlawful subjugation of innocent Kashmiri people. This has also been reflected in the joint statement released at the conclusion of the visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to China.
There is an overlap in the concerns of Pakistan and China regarding the recent change of the status of the Indian Held Kashmir. Another important subject of discussion was China Pakistan Economic Corridor-a US $60 billion projects of Pakistan-China Friendship that has entered the next phase of industrial cooperation and development.
During this visit, a complete range of relations in all matters of mutual interests were discussed. During the visit, the premier discussed the various projects of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and cooperation in the diverse fields of socio-economic cooperation, industrial and collaboration in agriculture sectors.
During this Pakistan has assured for the firm commitment to the CPEC and presented the promulgation of an ordinance creating ‘CPEC authority” which is meant to improve the speed of the working of CPEC projects. Prime Minister Imran Khan also met with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang wherein the renewed commitment has been drawn by the higher authorities to foster forward the relationship to a higher level.
The people’s Republic of China has celebrated its glorious 70th Anniversary of the founding of the country on 1 October with spectacular festivities across the country and abroad. The foundation was officially proclaimed by the Chinese Communist Party’s chairman Mao Zedong on 1 October 1949 at Tiananmen Square in Beijing. It was a historic moment of pride for the countrymen especially after the end of the long civil war, deaths, and destruction from 1927 till 1949.
China with having a population of more than 1 billion and gigantic current GDP of $27.331 trillion, is a miraculous transformation from a poor agrarian society into the world’s most powerful and largest economies. After 40 years of reforms period and hard work with dedication, the country has opened to the world with global ambitions of peaceful co-existence, shared prosperity, and common destiny.
With the launch of the mammoth project of the century Belt and Road Initiative, the People’s Republic of China is leading from the front on the global stage. Chinese people well deserve all these celebrations. The country has changed the face of development, growth with rapidness, and sustainability, helping to reduce the world’s poverty. China is now on the path to realizing the grand Chinese dream as coined by President Xi Jinping to build a moderately prosperous society and realize national rejuvenation in the coming future. Over the past 70 years, Pakistan and China celebrated their friendship at all levels.
Uzbekistan is preparing for the parliamentary elections in the country in December with many reforms and new processes being introduced. In December this year, five leading political parties will compete for the 150 seats of Oliy Majlis – the legislative chamber of the Parliament and later senate.
There are 20 million registered voters out of them are 2 million youth who will be voting for the first time contributing towards democracy and development of the country. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has taken some important steps for the promotion of the welfare state. The reforms introduced by the President of Uzbekistan are important in an inclusive process of the parliamentary elections with everyone having the right to vote and voice in the parliament. The President has also taken measures to organize these elections according to the new electoral code of Uzbekistan.
During the times of elections, Embassies across the world will remain open for the diaspora living abroad to vote and contribute to the greater national cause. These elections are the reflections of the progressive and strengthening democratic values of the country in the region.
