Bangkok, 17 November 2021 (TDI): Thailand will host the 3rd ASEAN-EU Dialogue on sustainable development on November 18, through a video conference.

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, Don Pramudwinai, and Member of the European Commission and Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jutta Urpilaine,n will kick off the dialogue.

The Facebook page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand will broadcast the High-Level Opening Segment of the Dialogue. The broadcast will be on air from 15.00-15.30 hrs.

The dialogue on sustainable development commits to strengthening the partnership between ASEAN and the EU on sustainability. This will also include partnership in COVID-19 recovery.

Officials and representatives from ASEAN and the EU Member States will attend the dialogue, tomorrow. Many other participants including the ASEAN Secretariat, and the European Commission are also attending the session.

The first ASEAN-EU dialogue was convened in Bangkok in 2017 on account of establishing a dialogue between ASEAN and the EU. Later, Brussels hosted the second dialogue in 2020 on behalf of the European Union.

While ASEAN-EU Dialogue will provide a basic frame to the two regions to strengthen the cooperation through sharing of experiences and best practices. Moreover, the dialogue will also give opportunity for regional integration and concrete cooperation to implement Sustainable Development Goals.
