Islamabad (TDI): The Royal Thai Embassy joined the “ASEAN Picnic 2024” on Friday, December 13, in Islamabad, to strengthen friendships and promote community bonds.
The event was hosted by the Bruneian Ambassador, Colonel (Ret.) Pengiran Haji Kamal Bashah Bin Pengiran Haji Ahmad.
The event was organized by who is also the Chairperson of the ASEAN Committee in Islamabad.

The picnic was also joined by ASEAN diplomats, their families, and staff members.
The Thai Ambassador led the team in various activities, including the “Amazing Race,” “Artificial Fishing,” and kayaking competitions.
The Thai team did well with the Ambassador and Defense Attaché Colonel Thanai Permpul winning first prize in the Ambassadors’ category of the “Amazing Race.”
Thai Embassy staff and their families also won multiple awards in other events.

The embassy’s chef prepared the famous Thai cuisine “Tom Yum Kai” (Chicken Tom Yum). This showcased Thailand’s soft power through food. It should be noted that Thailand recently celebrated Tom Yum Kung’s registration as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The picnic included several activities and cultural exchanges to bring together ASEAN member countries in Islamabad and promote awareness of the ASEAN community in Pakistan.
