ISLAMABAD (TDI): The Royal Thai Embassy in Pakistan, in collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP), hosted a special event titled “From the Embassy’s Garden to the Lunch Table: Let’s Cook Thai Food!”

The event, held at the embassy, aimed to highlight the significance of food security, sustainability, and cultural exchange, particularly among Pakistani women from diverse regions of the country.

Kamolwan Sriposil, Charge d’Affaires at the Royal Thai Embassy, opened the event by expressing gratitude to Miss Coco Ushiyama, Country Director of WFP, for her role in making the event possible.

Sriposil emphasized that the event showcased the significant role of home gardens in Thai culture, which provide fresh ingredients and support community resilience and income.

Chef Leem demonstrated a renowned Thai chef in Pakistan, the preparation of two classic Thai dishes—Thai Green Curry with chicken and Stir-fried Minced Beef with Holy Basil—using ingredients from the Embassy’s garden. Attendees enjoyed these dishes as part of the “from the garden to the table” theme.

Chef Leem signed the Chef’s Manifesto for SDG Zero Hunger, reinforcing our shared commitment to a hunger-free world and sustainable food practices.
