Islamabad, 16 August 2024 (TDI): Pakistan’s textile sector exports have experienced a decline of 3.1% in July, with a decrease of $4 million compared to the same period last year. The total textile export value dropped from $1.31 billion to $1.27 billion. This decline follows a 10.1% decrease in June, where exports fell from $1.47 billion to $1.41 billion.

According to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, despite this decline, the overall textile export for the current fiscal year has seen a 0.9% increase compared to the previous year, with a total value of $16.65 billion.

On a more positive note, Pakistan’s food export has seen a remarkable increase of 44.77% in July, with the export value rising from $24 million to $29 million. This surge in food exports is a positive sign for the country’s economy.

The export of rice has increased by 7.57%, fish by 0.5%, fruits by 13.1%, and meat and its products by 5.7%. Additionally, the export of sports goods has also seen a significant increase of 12.5%.
