Islamabad (TDI): The First Lady of Pakistan, Tehmina Durrani, shared her captivating art with the world in her solo art exhibition titled A Love Affair. The exhibition is displayed at the Tanzara Art Gallery in Saidpur Village, Islamabad.
The exhibition of the artist, author, and activist Tehmina Durrani is being attended by a large number of prominent social, political, and diplomatic figures, who are praising the beautiful depictions of women’s strength and sacrifice.
The Exhibition is set to continue till April 24, 2025 and is open to visitors from 12pm-7pm.
The paintings feature powerful visual storytelling that explores the significant roles and challenges faced by women in Pakistani society.
During the opening event, Tehmina Durrani shared that creating these paintings had been a journey of nearly two decades. Each painting is diffused with deep emotional expression, meant to be felt by the visitors.
As a renowned artist, Tehmina Durrani’s paintings are deeply expressive, capturing a broad spectrum of human emotions and experiences.
On the opening day of the exhibition, Durrani talked about her paintings and said that her art highlights not just the problems that women in our society face but it also depicts several emotional and social challenges that human beings, in general, go through.
A soulful performance by Pakistan’s legendary singer Abida Parveen remained the highlight of the opening ceremony, adding a spiritual depth to Durrani’s art exhibit.

Durrani is one of the most prominent women’s rights activists and authors of Pakistan. Her groundbreaking autobiography, My Feudal Lord, shattered long-standing silences surrounding the feudal system in Pakistan as well as the difficulties faced by women in Asian cultures.
The book reconciles the rights of women with the foundational principles of Islam. It was recognized as the European bestseller and has been translated into thirty nine languages since its publication.
She also wrote a biography on the life of Abdul Sattar Edhi, a patriotic Pakistani and an internationally recognized philanthropist.
She has also promoted women’s rights through various national and international platforms, highlighting the struggles that women of Pakistan face in their everyday lives.
