TDI and IPDS Step Up Cooperation with Kazakhstani Partners

President of the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPDS) and Editor-in-Chief of The Diplomatic Insight (TDI), met with Rassul Kospanov and Roza Tleukhan – analysts from Kazakhstan’s National Analytical Center (NAC), on Sunday, to discuss avenues for deeper institutional cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review the current state of Pakistan–Kazakhstan relations and to explore prospects for their further development.

Discussions centered on trade and economic cooperation, transport connectivity linking South and Central Asia, and regional security dynamics.

The two sides also underscored the value of expert diplomacy as a channel for reinforcing bilateral ties, noting that sustained engagement between think tanks can generate fresh policy initiatives and foster greater mutual understanding between Islamabad and Astana.

Both parties identified several promising areas for future collaboration between IPDS/TDI and the Kazakhstani expert community, including joint research projects, expert dialogues, and the regular exchange of analytical publications.

Particular interest was expressed in expanding cooperation on issues relevant to the Belt and Road Initiative, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and the broader connectivity agenda linking Central and South Asia.

Dr. Farhat Asif also presented Rassul Kospanov and Roza Tleukhan with a copy of The Diplomatic Insight Magazine which is a monthly publication of TDI; highly anticipated within the diplomatic circles in Pakistan, and now also finding way beyond borders.

The meeting concluded with both sides affirming their shared commitment to continuing this dialogue and to building a lasting institutional partnership between Pakistan’s and Kazakhstan’s analytical communities.

The Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPDS), based in Islamabad, conducts research and analytical work on Central Asia, China, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the Belt and Road Initiative, while Kazakhstan’s National Analytical Center (NAC) is a leading research institution based in Astana.
