Beijing, 20 September 2021 (TDI): The Ambassador of Tanzania to China, Mbelwa Kairuki, has announced on Saturday to open a Consulate General in China. Tanzanian Ambassador stated that in October, the Tanzanian Government will open a Consulate General in Guangzhou City, to serve the foreign mission and which would be the first port in Tanzania to call businesses from China.
Further, Ambassador Mbelwa Kairuki explained that this port would also attract Shunde, Taishan, Guangzhou, Shenzen, Foshan, Huizhou, Jiangmen, and Zhuhai Enterprises. Mbelwa Kairuki also called it an opportunity for businessmen and businesswomen who wanted to trade between China and Tanzania.
According to several business people, the decision was long overdue, and it will spare them the enormous distances they had to go to Beijing. Mbelwa Kairuki also mentioned in the 17th Enterprise fair that industrialization is one of the Government of Tanzania’s key agendas, and it is also a priority in our Strategic Cooperation with China.
