Tajik Envoy Lauds SCO Meeting in Pakistan

Islamabad (TDI): Yusuf Sharifzoda, the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Pakistan, expressed optimism on Wednesday about the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of Government meeting, emphasizing its potential to foster cordial relations among SCO member states in the future.

The Ambassador highlighted the significance of Tajikistan and Pakistan as key members of the SCO, noting that their geographical proximity is crucial for enhancing economic and trade integration among the member countries.

He said that there is substantial coordination between Tajikistan and Pakistan in this regard, according to APP.

Sharifzoda remarked on the important role of Central Asian countries, including Pakistan, in the SCO, stating that their influence on relations within the organization will be pivotal going forward.

He noted that Tajikistan’s Prime Minister, Qohir Rasulzoda, attended the meeting with a delegation, and discussions focused on strengthening mutual relations between the two nations.

He described the SCO as an emerging economic forum vital for all member countries’ future geo-economic ties.

During the SCO Council of Heads of Government meeting, a significant discussion took place between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Prime Minister Rasulzoda, where both leaders explored avenues for closer bilateral collaboration across various sectors of shared interest.

The Ambassador conveyed that both leaders underscored the need to promote bilateral ties in trade, investment, energy, and regional connectivity.

Prime Minister Rasulzoda extended warm congratulations to Pakistan for hosting the SCO CHG meeting, expressing gratitude for the hospitality extended to him and the SCO delegates.

Sharifzoda affirmed that both countries remain committed to advancing mutually beneficial cooperation in the Pakistan-Tajikistan partnership during SCO meetings.
