Sweden embassy celebrates Midsummer

Islamabad: June 26, 2021-(TDI):  Sweden embassy in Islamabad celebrated Sweden’s traditional Midsummer event. It is the most adored and loved Sweden tradition. The Sweden embassy official Twitter account posted about the day with a picture. The staff members of the Sweden embassy wore flower wreaths, one of the Swedish traditions during the celebration of summertime.

In Sweden, every year, midsummer eve is celebrated on Friday between 19 and 25 June. People get five weeks of the official holiday.

During that period,  people closed their shops, moved to the countryside and spent their holidays with family and friends.

Swedish people start their day by making flower wreaths and raising May-poles in an open spot. People of all ages perform traditional ring dances around the May-poles. For Swedish people, it is high time for the celebration of love and togetherness.
