Suspect Arrested in Trump Assassination Attempt

-

Florida (TDI): Ryan Wesley Routh, a 58-year-old self-employed builder from Hawaii, was arrested on Monday in connection with an alleged plot to assassinate former President Donald Trump in Florida.

Authorities believe Routh was planning to target Trump during a round of golf.

Routh had criticized Trump on social media, expressing his dissatisfaction with the former president after initially supporting him in 2016.

His social media accounts also revealed support for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, as well as strong backing for Ukraine in its conflict with Russia.

In his posts, Routh made several critical comments about Trump, including references to a July assassination attempt on Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania.

He also encouraged Kamala Harris and Biden to visit victims of a rally attack, criticizing Trump for his lack of response.

Routh’s past includes legal troubles in North Carolina dating back to the 1990s, involving unpaid taxes and other minor offenses.

His son, Oran, has expressed disbelief at the recent events, hoping the situation may have been exaggerated.

Earlier this year, Trump narrowly survived another assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, where 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks fired shots at him during a campaign rally.

The attack resulted in one death and one injury, and Trump was grazed by a bullet.

He praised the US Secret Service for their swift response.
