Beijing, 24 August 2024 (TDI): The Civil Aviation Administration of China said on Friday that despite significant expansion this summer, operations in the China’s civil aviation sector have remained safe and efficient.
Zhang Qing, director of the Development Planning Department of the CAAC, stated that the sector handled 117 million passenger trips between July 1 and August 20, average 2.29 million per day, an increase of 11% over the previous year.
As of August, daily passenger volumes exceeded 2.3 million, indicating that the rising trend in numbers persisted. 2.45 million Passenger trips, a record, were registered on August 10.
Demand for study abroad opportunities and overseas travel has increased throughout the summer travel season, which officially started on July 1 and ends on August 31.

Due to this, the number of foreign flights has risen to almost 6,300 per week, representing an over 10% increase since late June. This has led to a continuous growth in the global air passenger market.
She said that China-France air travel has significantly improved since the Paris Olympics. And popular destinations include South Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia.
42 main airports, 41 airlines, and 12 ticket sales platforms have enhanced their payment alternatives for overseas visitors in response to the increase in international travel. Among these improvements are currency exchange services and support for both domestic and foreign bank cards.
