Sudan PM had conversations with heads of IGAD member states

Khartoum, 7 September 2021 (TDI): Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok called several African leaders, heads of state, and the United States Special Representative for the Horn of Africa, Jeffrey Feltman, to discuss various issues and developments in the region and noted that ways for the solutions must be found for regional stability, peace, and security.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta, Rwandan President Paul Kagame, Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh, President of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, and Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo were contacted.

In these contacts, the Prime Minister, as head of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), delineated Sudan’s position on the region’s problems. Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok echoed the views and ideas of the leaders and presidents of these countries. The conversations put forward serious and concrete proposals with an approach to develop solutions for African challenges.
