Pakistan and Sri Lanka are friendly regional countries and enjoy a cordial and peaceful bilateral relation. Over the years, Pakistan has supported Sri Lanka in defense trainings.
Collaboration between educational defense institutes of both countries is an important feature of their bilateral ties. Sri Lankan Defense College students and officers regularly visit Pakistan for independent as well as UN-sponsored peacekeeping trainings, such as the Protection of Civilians Course offered at Center for International Peace and Stability, Islamabad.
People to people ties between Pakistan and Sri Lanka have mostly been cemented through cricket – a sports equally popular in both countries.
