South Asian Business Delegation to Visit Pakistan

Islamabad (TDI): A high-level business delegation from South Asian nations is set to visit Pakistan to participate in SAARC Charter Day celebrations in Islamabad, following an invitation extended by Atif Ikram Sheikh, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).

The delegation, comprising prominent business leaders including Khairuddin Mayel (Afghanistan), Shafquat Haider (Bangladesh), and Chandi Raj Dhakal (Nepal), will engage in high-level meetings with government officials, political leaders, and Pakistan’s business community.

The agenda includes bilateral trade discussions, exploring investment opportunities, addressing trade barriers, and fostering regional collaboration.

Focus on Economic Cooperation

Key events during the visit include B2B meetings, SCCI board sessions, and a site visit to the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s headquarters under construction in Islamabad.

Discussions will also center on promoting economic integration among SAARC member states.

Atif Ikram Sheikh expressed pride in hosting the delegation, emphasizing the need for dialogue to bolster regional ties. “Such exchanges are critical for fostering growth and ensuring shared prosperity in South Asia,” he remarked.

Mian Anjum Nisar, Vice President of SCCI and former FPCCI President, highlighted the visit’s significance, stating, “This initiative represents the collective resolve of South Asian nations to transcend trade barriers and unlock the region’s economic potential. Strengthened economic integration is vital for sustainable development.”
