Algiers, 15 November 2021 (TDI): South Africa Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Dr Naledi Pandor arrived in the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria on 13th November.
During his official visit, she met with Algerian Foreign Minister Mr Ramtane Lamamra where both discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between two countries.
Moreover, both Minister’s exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest. Likewise, two ministers reviewed the implementation of the decision of the Bi-national Commission between Algeria and South Africa.
Furthermore, Naledi Pandor met with the President of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune. Algerian President and Foreign Minister Pandor discussed matters of cooperation between both African countries.

South African Minister also visited the historical sites in Algeria with Algeria’s Minister of Culture and Arts, Ms Wafa Chaâlal. Minister took a tour of the Museum of Fine Arts of Algiers.
Likewise, South African Minister paid a visit to the Jardin d’Essai du Hamma or the Botanical Garden of El Hamma (Trial Garden) in Algiers.
Earlier, in 2009, South Africa and Algeria signed a cooperation agreement in the area of arts and culture. It was a part of the implementation of the Bi-National Commission. They agreed to enhance and strengthen the cordial relation between the people of two African nations. Culture can play a part in attaining the objectives of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD).
